Video of endoscopic third ventricularostomy

This is not for the squeamish but I offer it up to the curious. This is the view by the surgeon through the endoscope as he moves through the third ventricle at the very center of the brain and then perforated the membrane at the floor. Like Orion, this patient has an obstructing lesion. When the hole is made you can see the release of pressure.

This is NOT Orion!

Sweet dreams.

  1. Hey Orion:
We are glad to hear you are up and about. Good to hear you are drain-free, always a good place to be. Paul had so many drains when he was walking around Cleveland's shopping Center last winter that we had to carry them in recyclable shopping bags--so we are all for removal or drains. Hope you get some results back soon. Waiting seems to be an advanced degree program in a medical setting, we did some audiobooks, mysteries being a Paul favorite, they seem to make the waiting more tolerable. XOXO Annie & Paul

  2. As one of the curious, thanks for the video, it was incredible! Can O feel the difference in ICP?
